Firstly, a huge thanks to those that took the time to vote on the Poll.

Now... we've discused the problem at committee & are undecided on what to do.

Currently the Chequers is beating the Greyhound 10 to 8 votes. However..... we feel both venues have issues!

The Chequers is a nice size pub, good parking, our own room & fairly central. BUT, recently taken over on a 6 month lease which may or may not continue & the food has since gone up in price & way down in standard.

The Greyhound, nice pub, sometimes good parking, excellent food, sometimes our own room. BUT, dificulty in getting served, grumpy Tina (I can cope with her I've known her far too long!) & skittles matches that were so noisy we had to move to the other bar!

So, far from it for myself or the committee to go against the wishes of the membership, I thought I'd give this bit of extra information before we decide on where to go. I know it might have been usefull to put this on the poll but there you go!

As an added confusion, the venue for this years Anual prize giving dinner, The Bottany Bay, have said we can have half the restaurant each month for our club nights (eating isn't a condition of this)

The Bottany Bay, good parking, central dorset, good food (3courses for £10 in winter) & our own room.

Time is ticking away & I'm aware I've got you all to vote once already but do I re-do the poll, go with the results or just ignore it & do what the committee think best?! (which btw is the Bot Bay)

Comments please (& nothing about my incompetance!). x

The committee has a hard task pleasing everyone, so lets all support the choice.  Would it be a good idea for the committee to go and see the Greyhound management and discuss our needs?  Although not a big drinker I like the ales at the Greyhound.

Although a trip out of town to these pubs the club must encourage those who live in the wild west of Dorset.

Although in the original poll I voted to return to the Chequers, were I to vote again (on the basis of the new information...) I'd probably opt to go back to The Greyhound, but I'm more than happy to go with the views of the Committee (especially as The Botany Bay is easier for me to get to than The Chequers), and if Rog is suggesting The Botany Bay (and after all, except for The Worlds End, it's more or less his 'local', so he ought to know) then it's probably a good bet, and those who haven't been there before can check it out on the 21st.

I'd be happy with the Botany Bay but maybe I'm biased because its not too far away! Suggest the Committee makes the decision unless members make objections known. Guess we could always move again ;-0

Not serious - don't shoot me yet.
