Thanks but as you correctly assumed Nigel was on the case. We did a carb rebuild and checked what we could of the electrics before deciding there was nothing else we could do and towed it home. Following Nigel's advice changed the condenser when I get home and it started and ran so hopefully thats the end of the problem. Thanks again to all those who helped and Roger for lending me his series so I could carry on with the trials.
