The joys of land rover ownership..............

Those of you who were at Tincleton today, may be aware that my front axle broke...... well, something inside it anyway...........

However, on the way home, i found out the hard way what was broken..... as the diff pin decided to break free through the axle casing...... leaving a giant oil slick from there, til i got home...... thankfully only about a mile,.........

The moral of this story is this............... if you lose drive in the front axle, remove the front prop, and drive flanges, therefore the axle internals won;t turn, meaning the damage will be limited........... as it is, i think i now need to source another complete front axle...LOL!!

Ron.

Oh dear! Hope you can get it sorted before Mannington - I'm sure a competent chap like you will be able to source an axle quick-smart. I dont think you cant really blame the truck - you do tend to give it a right pasting!!!
Good luck with the repair
