Someone talk me out of it....................

I find myself looking at 90's......... i have found what looks like a nice standard v8 manual, and early one, but looked after.... my discovery isn;t great on fuel anyway, so would the 90 be that much worse..... its not huge money, and it's a proper land rover if that makes sense..... so, lets hear the reasons i shouldn;t buy it...LOL!!

SWB

Ron

I remember you lusting after Erics white V8 so go for it. On last years Mendip the V8 90 was the only vehicle to have.

See you in SWB!

Ron You'll only break it

Ron

You'll only break it quicker with all that extra torque.

I beg to differ. A factory v8

I beg to differ.

A factory v8 should (might) have a 4 pin rear diff & early 90's (&110's) have the strongest front Landie axle bar 101's.

Plus it will only have about 120bhp & will be about 3/4ton lighter than his Disco.

The only reason I see not to is you'll loose your shunts! ;)

Please buy it

Ron,

If you get a 90, then I may get mysely a prize this year and not due to a mix-up with points like last time!!!! :-)

Well, you can all rest easy

Well, you can all rest easy for a little while longer.......... i got home from work early today, so made the call, and drove to Witney to see it, it is 25 yrs old remember.... so, although it had a galvanised chassis a few yrs back, the bulkhead looked good on the outside, but under the bonnet and floor well were rotten, the seat box needed work.... the boot floor supports were rotten, several things didn;t work, on the plus side, it sounded nice, and drove ok, all be it with a bit of slop..... maybe transfer or gearbox.....

The underneath was covered in oil from leaks, but it is a land rover..... and everything was rusty, bear in mind that with just 43k on the clock in 25yrs, thats 1720 miles per yr, average........... crazy really, so anyway, the search may continue.... if i find the right truck, i will indeed lose my shunt...LOL!!!

See ya sunday, if not on friday at the meet...
